The toponymy of Kiyasovo

Oikonym of Turkic origin: Кияс [Kiyas] – personal name (turk.) +ово [-ovo] –  Russian language affix.

The settlement was founded in the 70s of the XVIII century by relocatees from villages Atabayevo and Yazhbakhtino (Sarapul district, Vyatka province, nowadays Kiyasovsky district). The Tatars and the Mari lived on these places before the relocatees arrival [Атаманов 2015: 410].
